The Weekend:
The city of Limassol, on the East coast of Cyprus, is a linear town hugging the coast. It is also Europe’s most southerly city! A large port at the southern end of the town gives way to sandy beaches, hotels, bars, cafes, restaurants and shops in the centre, and towards the North of the city, ancient ruins.
With 4 distances on offer (Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K and 5K) this is a perfect venue for Running Clubs and Groups, with everyone choosing the race that suits them best.

The Race:
All courses are along the seafront road of the city of Limassol. Well marshalled and assisted by the Cyprus Police.
Marathon - The Marathon is a linear course starting early and you will run the complete length of the city along the coast. With the likelihood of some warm weather it is suggested that this is an event for dedicated Marathoners. The course takes in ancient ruins as well as the busy port area. Time limit 5 Hours.
Half Marathon - Starting and Finishing on the city promenade. Flat. Time limit 3 hours.
10K - Another out and back flat course on the coast. Time limit 90 Minutes.

Spectators and Supporters:
Limassol is a relatively busy tourist town, but being the second largest city on the island, it has a vibe of its own. For spectators of the race, particularly the Marathon, we suggest taking a seat at a harbour-front café and watching events unfold. The Half Marathon and 10K runners will pass twice before the arrival of the Marathoners.
Charity Runners:
'Running Crazy' are delighted to welcome runners who are raising sponsorship for registered charities. We know that the great feeling of accomplishment when completing the race, feels even better when you are helping others in to the bargain! See our Run for Charity link to choose a charity that you can help. Many charities listed there will provide special runners packs including sponsorship forms and tips, and also charity running vests. Just contact them with your details and tell them you intend to run with 'Running Crazy' on their behalf. In addition we will provide you with a 'Running Crazy' Certificate confirming your achievement and result, and also a special commemorative prize. Just specify the charity name in your 'Application'
Accommodation:
There are many tourist hotels in the Limassol area and with good weather throughout the winter, most stay open all year round. However, there are very few that are well placed for the race as well as the rest of your time here. We have secured accommodation at a great 3 star hotel on a bed and breakfast board basis. It is the closest to the Start/Finish area (10 minutes walk) and so is ideal for kit security, changing, showers and that all important last toilet visit!

Entertainment:
Limassol, as well as being of huge historical and cultural interest, is also a well known tourist resort. There are numerous cafes, bars, pubs and restaurants all along it’s long seafront promenade. We know all the best value places to eat, drink and party. Our carbo-loading meal at a trustworthy good value restaurant the night before the race is always popular and a great social occasion. Our after race celebration complete with prizes and surprises is always worth staying up for. There is ample to do for the nightowls!
Groups:
This weekend offers a great opportunity for Clubs or Training Partners to get together. It may also make the travel arrangements more convenient and enjoyable. There are discounts available for larger groups (20+), but even a group of just 10 will qualify for an additional prize for the first or last to finish (you choose).
Prices
Our all inclusive prices are extremely competitive - from as little as just £149 for the weekend - we know we cannot be beaten on price - and our runners continually tell us that they receive so much more on a 'Running Crazy' weekend break. All our 'resort races' offer half board accommodation, and for our 'Big City' races we know all the best value places to eat, drink and have fun. Indeed we book these for our pre-race and after race gatherings, meaning groups and individuals can just sit back, relax, make new running pals and let us do any worrying. No tourist traps for our clients! We know these races and places inside out, and will advise on what to see and do over the weekend, provide directions and maps - all very useful when on a tight timescale. All you have to do is run!
